Import and Export Process
This document provides a step-by-step guide to importing and exporting the ICE Policy - Insync project between the UAT and Live environments.
This process can result in an outage to document generation between the steps of renaming the KCM projects, hence it is recommended to do this renaming at a quiet time.
Content
Export the project from UAT
Click on the “ICE Policy - Insync” project in UAT.
Go to File > Import/Export > Export…

Browse for a location to save the export file, uncheck Include history, and then click on OK.

This will save an export file.
Import the exported file into the Live Designer
Connect to the Live designer and go to File > Import/Export > Import…

Select the exported file and click on Next.
KCM will then process the file, and then present the following screen:

Check it says that the project will be imported as “ICE Policy - Insync - New” and then click on Next to begin the import.
Post-Import
Once the import is complete, you should see 3 projects in the Live Designer:
ICE Policy - Insync - New
ICE Policy - Insync
ICE Policy - Insync - Old

Delete the project “ICE Policy - Insync - Old” so only the other 2 projects remain:
ICE Policy - Insync - New
ICE Policy - Insync
Rename the KCM projects
For context here, ICE Policy will always use content from the project named “ICE Policy - Insync." These two steps must be done in quick succession, as between them there will be no project with a valid name and document generation will fail.
Rename “ICE Policy - Insync" to “ICE Policy - Insync - Old”
Rename “ICE Policy - Insync - New" to “ICE Policy - Insync”
This step effectively swaps out the project that has the correct name.
Verify the project names
There should now be 2 KCM projects named:
ICE Policy - Insync
ICE Policy - Insync - Old
The “ICE Policy - Insync” project should be the one that was imported, and hence will be used by ICE Policy.
Conclusion
This document has provided a detailed guide to the import and export process for the ICE Policy - Insync project. Following these steps will ensure a successful migration between the UAT and Live environments.
