Document Testing via Wizard instead of ICE Policy

This is how you can test a document without having an docs config setup in ICE Admin. It's also a good way to identify is a document isn't generating because of docs config or KCM.

You need to ensure that your text block(s) and content wizards are set in KCM, saved and unlocked.

Next go to Templates > Wizard > right click on the Wizard and click Test

It will open a window in your browser where you need to select an XML file. See below example. This XML file is a document payload provided by ICE and shows what is sent from ICE to KCM. You can request new versions from ICE or just edit the attached accordingly. It's not important that the XML is for the correct scheme, just that the area you're trying to test is included.

Once you've selected your file and hit Ok, click Ok again to simulate non-interactive mode

Select the content wizard from the list that you want to test, scroll to the bottom and hit Ok

This will then generate your document and after clicking Ok will either open your document, redirect you to a link with your document or provide you with an error message.

If the document generates fine, then you know docs config is the issue if it's not generating in Casefile. If the document has an error message or formatting issues, you will need to amend in KCM.
