General Navigation

The ICE Workbench page is split into two main panels:

The left-hand panel (Section 1) displays a hierarchical view of the Products, Payment Plan, Data Dictionary, or Reference Data tab selected at the top of the panel. Selecting a Payment Plan, Data Dictionary or Reference Data will trigger the right-hand panel (Section 2) to appear, selecting a product or scheme in the Products tab will trigger the page to split into three main panels:

The Central panel (Section 3) shows the Configuration nodes that define the Product selected in the left- hand panel. These consist of:

  • The Data Model consists of Attributes (which can be thought of as user questions).

  • The Insurance Model consists of Sections, Covers, Excesses, Policy Terms and Cover Configuration:

  • The Presentation Model consists of the Forms (which can be thought of as pages made up of questions), Form Links, and Wizards. These determine how the questions are deployed in terms of pages and page flows:

The right-hand panel (Section 2) shows the detail linked to the selected node in the central panel. Items and views change as they are edited and navigated.

Unsaved changes are indicated by the tab name (the Product, Scheme, Data Dictionary, Operating Configuration, or Reference Data) at the top being prefaced by an asterisk (*). To save the changes and clear the asterisk, either select File > Save from the top menu, or press [Ctrl]+[S]. The Search box enables you to enter and search for items within the layer that is currently open. To redisplay all items, simply clear the box and click again. The left and right navigation buttons move you forward and backward between the pages that you have viewed, in the same way as a Web browser. The buttons at the top of the left-hand panel, from left to right, enable you to:

  • Refresh the Product Layers.

  • Add a top layer (in the case of ICE Policy, this is a Product, Data Dictionary, Payment Plan, or Reference Data).
