ICE Version Manager

Use this guide to publish changes.

Change Management

Before new or amended data can be used in a runtime version of ICE Policy, it must be Submitted to Change Management. This is done in ICE Version Manager.

Process:

  1. With ICE Version Manager open, select Change Management at the top of the page. The Change Management page will appear:

  1. Use the Select Environment drop-down to select your exact Environment (for example, ICE Policy UAT, ICE Policy Pre-Prod, or ICE Policy Production).

  2. Click Refresh to ensure that the latest publishing information for the configuration data is displayed, for example:

If the ID information is to be displayed, click Display ID columns at the top of the page. ID and CMID columns are added on the far right of the table.

  1. Set the Publish status for each row in the table as follows:

  • If it is necessary to publish the associated data, select the Publish column on the left. The Publish Now column will then be selected by default, and the Effective Date column will default to today's date. If it is not necessary for the changes to be effective from today's date, use the Calendar tool to pick an alternative Effective Date. If data is not to be published now, de-select Publish Now and set a Publish Date and Publish Hour (in the range 00-23)

  • To prevent the data from being published, select the Disable Publishing column. The selection box is automatically removed from the Publish column on the left. However, be aware that the data will be removed from the from the Change Management page following a Refresh.

If there are duplicate records and you select Publish for the latest of the records, then the duplicates are set to Disable Publishing by default.

If it is not necessary to publish the data at the present time, and the data is to remain on the Change Management page following a Refresh ready for next time, ensure that the row remains completely de-selected.

  1. To publish all the rows of configuration data in the table, select Select All at the top of the page.

  2. When each of the row statuses has been set as required, click Publish in the top right hand corner of the page to transfer the selected records to the selected Environment. If publishing is successful, then, on a Refresh, the published rows are removed from the Change Management page, as are any rows for which you selected Disable Publishing.

If the publishing of a row is unsuccessful, then a red cross will appear in the Status column. If this happens to several records, such that they become stuck and the system keeps trying to send them to ICE at the same time as other records that have just been selected for publishing, then you should contact your Support Desk.
